"Buckflower" Protein Porridge - w/ 5 Flavor Ideas! [Gluten Free & Vegan]


This absolutely has to be my favorite breakfast of all time, for so many reasons! Firstly, it's literally so easy to make and takes about 5 minutes total. This is also vegan and gluten free! It's loaded with healthy, whole grain carbohydrates to give you energy but keep your blood sugar stable during the morning hours. It also has added protein from MRM Veggie Elite protein powder - an unbelievable source of plant based nutrients to increase your protein intake for the day. This combination will help keep you satisfied for hours! AND - you get a secret serving of veggies along with it! Perfect for kids who don't like eating vegetables plain.

Banana Bread Buckflower Protein Porridge



You will need:



Directions:
  • In a deep, microwave-safe bowl, place the water, buckwheat and cauliflower
  • Mix, cover the bowl with a paper towel, and microwave on high for 2 minutes
  • Remove and stir, then microwave for another 1 min 30 seconds.
  • Let the porridge cool for about 3 minutes, then mix in the vanilla extract, mashed banana, Sacha Inchi, cinnamon and Vanilla Bean Veggie Elite protein.
    • The protein thickens the porridge to an awesome, oatmeal-like texture!
Top with fruit, nuts, nut butter, coconut/soy yogurt, or anything else your heart desires!

Hot Chocolate Buckflower Protein Porridge



You will need


Directions:
  • In a deep, microwave-safe bowl, place the water, buckwheat and cauliflower
  • Mix, cover the bowl with a paper towel, and microwave on high for 2 minutes
  • Remove and stir, then microwave for another 1 min 30 seconds.
  • Let the porridge cool for about 5 minutes, then mix in the cocoa powder and Veggie Elite protein.
    • The protein thickens the porridge to an awesome, oatmeal-like texture!
  • Taste-test now, and feel free to add any other sweeteners of choice like stevia, maple syrup, brown rice syrup, mashed banana, or anything else you like!



 Vanilla-Chai Buckflower Protein Porridge



You will need:
  • 1/4 cup buckwheat flakes (I use Bob’s Red Mill Creamy Buckwheat Cereal)
  • 1 cup cauliflower rice
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ banana, mashed
  • ½ scoop MRM Vanilla Bean VeggieElite

  • 1 tsp MRM Mesquite Powder
  • allspice, cloves and ginger (to taste)



Directions:
  • Combine buckwheat, cauliflower and water in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 2 minutes.
  • Stir, then microwave another minute.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, then stir in the mashed banana, protein, mesquite, and spices until the porridge thickens.
  • Top with the other half of the banana and any other toppings you want!

Vanilla Beet-Berry Buckflower Protein Porridge

  • Mix, cover the bowl with a paper towel, and microwave on high for 2 minutes
  • Remove and stir, then microwave for another 1 min 30 seconds.
  • Let the porridge cool for about 5 minutes, then mix in the Beet Powder, Lingonberry Powder and Vanilla Bean Veggie Elite protein.
  • The protein thickens the porridge to an awesome, oatmeal-like texture!

Pumpkin Spice Buckflower Protein Porridge


You will need:
  • ¼ cup Buckwheat Flakes
  • 1 heaped cup cauliflower rice
  • 1 + ¼ cup water or milk of choice
  • ¼ cup 100% pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (to taste)
    • if you don’t have this spice, use a mixture of cinnamon, allspice, cloves and nutmeg
